This is AFVN, the American Forces Vietnam Network in Saigon, serving the American fighting man with information and entertainment. The voice of home. GOOD EVENING, VIETNAM! This is AFVN in Saigon. Air Force Sergeant Milo Taggart has the late shift, two turntables, and a studio light attracting every moth in Southeast Asia. You asked by telephone. You asked by letter. One determined fellow slipped a request under the door with a boot print on it. So tonight, no chopped singles and no short radio edits. We are playing the complete long-playing record from the Unmeasured Hours, plus one alternate take at the end. The album is The Last Broadcast from Earth. Side one begins with somebody else in possession of the clock. This is The Ministry of Hours.

The Ministry of Hours. Six minutes of clocks, forms, and one drummer refusing to initial the proper box. That opens The Last Broadcast from Earth. Before we enter the second room, here is a short reminder from the finance people. They have pencils, figures, and, for once, surprisingly good news.
- Service spot
Let your tour in Vietnam count for something. The Uniformed Services Savings Deposit Program pays ten percent interest on authorized deposits. You may arrange a regular amount from your pay and go home with money in the bank. For eligibility, limits, and deposit instructions, see your unit finance office.
- DJ · Milo Taggart
Ten percent interest. That is more useful than hiding your pay in a sock, and considerably kinder to the sock. Back to the album. Track two opens a door that probably should have stayed closed. The House Where Yesterday Lives.

The House Where Yesterday Lives. If your old bedroom is still waiting upstairs, knock first. Milo Taggart with this AFVN late-night album special. One station identification, then the final record on side one.

Now the centre of the record. Something follows the music across the dark, arrives here, takes one look at humanity, and wisely asks for further information. Side one closes with The Visitor, take eight.
- RecordThe Visitor (take 8) — The Unmeasured Hours

The Visitor, take eight, closing side one of The Last Broadcast from Earth. Do not adjust your set. That silence is the part where I turn the record over without dropping it on Saigon. While the turntable and I conduct delicate negotiations, check that R and R shot record.
- Service spot
R and R can be seven fine, lazy days. But without an up-to-date shot record, your trip can be stopped before it starts. You may not be allowed on the aircraft. Check your record before departure day. Get required inoculations in time. Be prepared for your R and R.

Orders, money, loud shirt, shot record. Pack all four and your vacation may begin somewhere beyond the passenger terminal. All right, the record is over and the needle is down. Side two opens with the B-side that pulled this whole album onto the air. The Boy at the Edge of Noon.

The Boy at the Edge of Noon. The B-side that earned enough requests to pull the entire album onto the air. The title track is still ahead. First, one practical message for every man who thinks a mosquito is too small to affect his schedule.
- Service spot
The mosquito is probably the smallest foe you will encounter in Vietnam. He spreads malaria and encephalitis. These diseases can be dangerous if they are not treated early. Do not wait until you get sick to protect yourself. Take your anti-malaria pill weekly. Spray repellent on exposed skin. Sleep under your mosquito net. Spray enclosed areas with an aerosol bomb. Do not become a casualty of a pesky mosquito.
- DJ · Milo Taggart
Take the pill. Use the repellent. Sleep under the net. The mosquito has no respect for album finales. Now, lights down in the studio. Here is the closing track of the album proper, played complete. The Unmeasured Hours, with The Last Broadcast from Earth.
- RecordTHE LAST BROADCAST FROM EARTH (take 2) — The Unmeasured Hours
- DJ · Milo Taggart
The Last Broadcast from Earth. That is the title track, and the album proper has made its final transmission. But do not reach for the switch. There is one bonus cut waiting at the end of side two: a different complete performance of The Visitor. This is take nine.
- RecordThe Visitor (take 9) — The Unmeasured Hours
- DJ · Milo Taggart
The Visitor, take nine. That bonus cut closes side two and our complete broadcast of The Last Broadcast from Earth. Side one carried The Ministry of Hours, The House Where Yesterday Lives, and The Visitor, take eight. Side two opened with The Boy at the Edge of Noon, continued with the title track, and finished with that alternate take. No edits. No missing pieces. Thanks to everybody who called, wrote, leaned through a doorway, or threatened this studio with another request slip. Milo Taggart closing this AFVN late-night presentation from Saigon. Keep it five by five, take care of the man beside you, and when your shift finally lets go, get some sleep. Good night, Vietnam.
